Voter ID & Turnout for 2016 NY State Senate Special Election
Profectus was retained for a GOTV independent expenditure in the then most expensive state senate special election in NY history, Todd Kaminski. We targeted voters who would be receptive to a pro-woman, pro-choice message.
We successfully motivated and turned out key districts allowing the Democratic candidate to eek out a narrow win in a historically Republican district.
Petitioning
Profectus was retained to do petitioning work for a congressional candidate targeting long-standing republican Congressman. We were able to successfully get client on the ballot and introduced him to Democratic base voters.
Field & Communications Services
Profectus was retained to handle earned media, social media, and field during the congressional primary. Our communications consulting resulted in regular positive coverage of policy roll outs, endorsements, and other campaign news. Our field team - in addition to running a paid field program - built a significant student volunteer program for the campaign which served as a backbone for an aggressive - yet budget conscious - GOTV program.

In 2016, the local political establishment saw an opportunity to defeat the incumbent Senator and bankrolled a challenger. Profectus was retained for general campaign consulting including field, political, and communications.
We consistently reminded voters of the long-standing ties that the senator had to the community as well as his history of delivering resources for the district. In addition we contrasted James’s strong independent leadership to his opponents insider and machine politics.
Our tactics were successfully and Sanders was able to beat back the challenge with 57% of the vote.
Profectus is excited to be working with the 11th congressional district candidate Michael DeVito on his road to transform a historically red district into blue and provide change we need, want, deserve in New York and the country.
